SEND AND RECIEVE EMAIL ON MOBILE WITHOUT GPRS CONNECTION

23:07 Trick2day 2 comments

Now it is possible to receive emails on your mobile without using GPRS. This has been made possible by a new application called BlacMail. BlacMail, launched by BSNL, is a mobile app that allows you to receive and send emails on your mobile phone instantly, without GPRS.

BlacMail allows you to connect with other popular web mail service providers like Yahoo! Mail, Gmail and Hotmail as well as popular social networking sites like Facebook, Orkut and Twitter. Additionally, it allows you to share job alerts from popular employment portals like Naukri, TimesJobs and Monster. Presently, this pushmail service is available only in certain places in southern India. However, BSNL plans to launch the service nationwide soon.

Features of BlacMail

* White list –This feature helps you to receive emails from selected group of contacts only and thus avoid spam easily.
* Separate Mail Box – BlacMail is a separate app and hence it has a separate inbox for your mails. It does not clutter your inbox with SMS(s).
* BlacMail PIN – The PIN is to ensure the safety of your BlacMail emails. After activating the PIN, you will have to enter that PIN every time you want to access BlacMail app on your mobile.
* On Demand Check Mail – This feature allows you to get your emails only when you want it.

BlacMail should work on any cell phone with Java, MIDP 2.0 + and CLDC 1.1 +.

WATCH TV CHANNELS ON MOBILE FOR FREE

06:13 Trick2day 1 comment

I have been planning to write this article for a long time now but couldn’t as i wasn’t able to find live streaming links for all the major Indian TV channels. But, i have decided to publish all the current working links for live streaming and update this article as and when i discover new links for other channels.

Anyways, at first the idea of live streaming Indian TV channels on mobile phone seemed a lame and useless as GPRS isn’t considered the best option for streaming videos. However, since 3G is still months away from official launch, i tried to gamble with it and found that streaming isn’t that bad at all! Channels that provide lo version ran quite nicely without any snag (tried on Airtel Mobile Office). Coming back to the topic, i was able to find some working links that allow you to watch live streaming of few channels like MTV, 9XM and Colours. Open the following mentioned url’s in your mobile phone’s default web browser to view live streaming of channels:

rtsp://94.75.250.53:554/rtplive/9xm (9XM – lo version)

rtsp://94.75.250.53:554/live/9xm2 (9Xm – hi version)

rtsp://79.125.116.42/rtpencoder/zenga003.sdp (Colors)

rstp://79.125.116.42/rtpencoder/zenga007.sdp (MTv)

rtsp://121.241.248.1:554/rtpencoder/NDTV24X7_H264.sdp (NDTV 24×7)

rtsp://121.241.248.1:554/rtpencoder/AAJTAK_H264.sdp (AajTak)

UPDATE 1: Here are some more working channels:

rtsp://79.125.95.101/broadcast/aajtak.rm (Aajtak)

rtsp://79.125.95.101/broadcast/zenga001.rm (Colours)

rtsp://79.125.95.101/broadcast/today.rm (Headlines Today)

rtsp://94.75.250.53:554/live/newsx2 (News X2)

rtsp://79.125.95.101/broadcast/tez.rm (Tez – News Channel)

rtsp://79.125.95.101/rtpencoder/utvbin.sdp (UTV Bindass – Link 1)

rtsp://79.125.95.101/broadcast/utvbin.rm (UTV Bindass Link 2)

rtsp://79.125.95.101/broadcast/utvblo.rm (UTV Bloomberg)

rtsp://79.125.95.101/rtpencoder/utvact.sdp (UTV Movies Link 1)

rtsp://79.125.95.101/broadcast/utvact.rm (UTV Movies Link 2)

UPDATE 2: New working channels (includes sports channel for watching live Cricket on mobile!):

rtsp://115.248.246.156:554/DD_QVGA.sdp (DD National – Cricket World Cup 2011-Only Indian Matches) (For S60)

rtsp://59.162.166.216:554/2G/LIVE/DD_QCIF.sdp (DD National – Cricket ODI coverage – India Vs South Africa, 2011) (For S40)

All the above mentioned links are the latest one’s and have been tried and tested. All of them are working at the time of posting them!

NOTE: In order to view live streaming make sure you are using socket connection and NOT proxy connection. As an example, Airtel NOP uses proxy whereas Airtel MO (Mobile Office) uses Socket connection. And activate unlimited Internet plan before live streaming Live Indian TV channel else it will turn out to be expensive.
